I am way over due to do a review for my hands down favorite Jamaican restaurant! I have been going there for many years since I moved to the US and they haven't disappointed me.

So let's get started talking about their food! They have various beef patties that are freshly made and they are so delicious, and you can also pair it with their coco bread to make it a complete meal. I love their roti (the best way to describe it is a big burrito filled with meat, potatoes that's stuffed with tropical flavor). I have gotten my favorites curry chicken and jerk chicken roti many times and they are both so satisfying! Their meals are also a homerun for sure! Just thinking about jerk chicken, curry chicken, brown stew chicken just to name a few and it reminds me of my meals from my homeland Dominica! They create mouth watering meals to satisfy your heart and soul! Their prices are very affordable as well so it's definitely worth it. You can check out some of my pictures as proof.

I would strongly recommend visiting them to get a taste of the Caribbean! FYI it's not a dine in restaurant, but trust me it's the most authentic cooking you will get because no chain restaurants can't duplicate their food. I will caution you that jerk chicken is spicy so only order it if you can handle the heat lol. So I will end by saying "feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, its bobsled time!" #CoolRunnings

One of the staples of Jamaican food is jerk chicken with rice and peas. The jerk chicken was dry, the seasoning had no flavor and the rice wasnt thoroughly cooked. Not at all what I expected from this place. If youre looking for jamaican food check out Top Taste in Irvington. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the plantains were good

    4/10 would not recommend

Nope... the service isn't very friendly. You'll be lucky if you get a half smile, but the food is always on point. I'm specifically referring to their oxtails.... If I could eat their oxtails every day and not be backed up, I would. My goodness... I have never had better oxtails, not even in the heart of Jamaica or Flatbush. So... I'm so very happy that they are 10 minutes from my home, so when that oxtail craving hits, I can get on that without the blink of an eye. I've also had their beef and cheese and their chicken patties, definitely solid.. but I've had better. Ok, back to the oxtails...

    Oxtail heaven.

Having had Caribbean food from many of the local Caribbean restaurants I still think this one has them all beat!   I continue to keep trying other places because, I don't always want to deal with the parking situation in New Brunswick.  But it's always a treat to come here. It's a small, takeout only place. They also sell a variety of different tropical breads and drinks as well as various meat filled patties.   My go to meal is the Curry Chicken Roti.  I love the portions and how the roti soaks up all the curry flavor.   The prices are beyond reasonable for the amount of food you get.  I've not had the oxtails in a while now but in the past they were always juicy and meaty and seasoned perfectly.  I think I could eat this everyday.  This place is truly a gem!

My first visit, I ordered the Brown Stew chicken with just cabbage & the oxtails with just cabbage ( no rice & peas).
Lets start with the chicken, the flavor was good, but the chicken was a little dry; I liked it, but I didn't love it, although I am on a quest for exceptional Carribean food, I can honestly say, I've had better. As for my friend, he had the Oxtail and loved it. Now this is a person who is pickier than me, but since I don't eat red meat I'll take his word that the Oxtails were very good; what I will say is that they were very meaty and the dish did not consist of bones and fat. Since he tasted my chicken, we both agreed that the chicken was too dry and the cabbage was pretty good. I would try this place again with a different dish. However parking is a nightmare, but that is to be expected since its smack dab in the midst of Rutgers.
